Maine Schools in the Mount Washington Valley
The Mount Washington Valley extends acroos the New Hampshire border into Maine and includes the towns of Fryeburg, Brownfield, Denmark, Lovell, Stoneham, Stow and Sweden. The schools in these towns comprise the Maine School District 72 (MSAD #72). By virtue of being located in Western Maine, these towns have small elementary schools. Fryeburg is home to the area Middle School. The school district does not operate its own high school but rather sends students to Fryeburg Acadamy, a private school originally founded in 1772 and one of the first schools built in Maine. The schools of the region are below:
- Brownfield-Denmark Elementary School, grades K-5. Denmark Maine
- C.A. Snow School, grades k-5, Fryeburg Maine
